Students of Stonewall is a youth leadership, activism, and civic engagement team comprised of high school students and college mentors who identify within or as allies to the LGBTQ+ community. The team meets weekly to name and address key issues that impact LGBTQ+ young people in Nashville and nationally. Application-based with stipend.
Just Us is a weekly drop-in program for LGBTQ+ high school students across middle TN. Each week students spend time checking in with one another about their lives and then engage in various activities surrounding positive youth development, social justice, community building, and art to name a few.
We offer Drop in times on Mondays from 3-6 for LGBTQ+ teens and their allies (13-18). We also have specific programming for trans and non-binary teens on Tuesday nights from 5:30-7:00. This group welcomes any member of the transgender community regardless of labels or self-identification. The meetings are private, free, and open with topics varying each meeting dependent upon need. Garnering acceptance by loved ones may be a significant challenge; this is a group that values free expression.
The nonbinary group is a peer support group for adults 18 and older. It is a safe space for expressing non-binary, fluid, or genderqueer identities among likeminded peers. Discussion of gender, including its evolving role in our society, will factor heavily into meetings.
